Since then I wore weave. My hair is VERY short down to my ears and the back is like a VERYYYYY TINY afro I mean TINY

My hair is very dry and I think its breaking off but I don't

know what to do. My hair just isnt growing. How can I get it to

start growing at lease shoulder length.

BUT NO [IM SERIOUS]African American Hair GROWTH PROBLEMS?
to grow African curly hair naturally

what you need is a full hair care regimen

by protecting the existing hair and growing a healthy new hair from the scalp

- minimize manipulation of your hair as possible

normally Hair grows at an average rate of about 1/2 inch per month. so you should get 6 inches growth a year with proper care

satin or silk pillow case or wear a head scarf ';satin and silk don't absorb moisture from your hair '; when going to sleep

when brushing hair treat it like gold

start from the tips up to the scalp and if it tangels just loose the brush and untangel it with your fingers

scalp massage daily with finger tips and not with finger nails

to protect a curly hair you should understand that its dry because the natural oils are prevented from moisturizing the hair from the scalp by the curls even when the scalp might be oily , and more then that in every curl there is a weak point with more tendency to break

the solution would keeping it mosturized all the time by not washing hair more than 3 times a months with shampoo and using only conditioner when ever you feel like washing it.

when washing do ';CWC';condition ,wash ,condition.

dilute the shampoo in water in other bottle before applying it to the hair ,after towel dry apply the leave in conditioner.

It is a good idea to use protein treatments to prevent breakage and rebuild hair structure.hot oil treatments to seal in moisture, wearing you hair in a protective hairstyle

or if waring weaves thats enough protection all you have to do is keep it clean but moisturized ';your hair';

highly protein diet , fresh vege's and fruits and finally

cod liver ';fish oil'; capsule

I see some good responses in some of the previous posts, and some that are ridiculous.

Anyway, have you ever tried to embrace your shorter hair? I know wearing the weave offers more options and you can switch it up, but there are thousands of women sporting texturizers, freeze curls, or pixie cuts with fades or shag that are beautiful.

Basically you, your ma, and a cosmetologist/ trichiologist/ dermatologist need to re-evaluate how you've been taking care of your hair to this point, and find a solution that will help your hair grow. The cosmetologist can help you find a style that works for your lifestyle as you transition to HS.
wow, dats weird cause weave helped me alot, but then wehn i took it off it did damage after a few months, i started doing aloe vera, 1tbs of olive and vitamin E oil blended and place a plastic bag over it for an hour then rinse and wash as usual, i did this once a week every week, for 2 months and my hair got longer, and stronger, that my stylist didnt even have to cut my ends. try this for atleast a month, then when ur hair gets stronger try sew in extensions.

but if u want u can also try buying this product called Doo Grow its for hair that just wont grow, buy from the shampoo to the hair cream, and even hair oil that u apply in the scalp.
Hey well for starters how do u put the weave in??( glue or sew) you also need to know that you have to let ur hair breath before you get it done again even if its for 1 day ..if its dry use olive oil( yes cooking oil) it helps it to become moist and healthy looking sometimes its good to leave it in a scarf for a while dnt use grease it weighs down ur growing process box breads will be the best thing for you to get if u need more questions to be answered hit me up on conschess713@yahoo or conschess718@aol good luck!!
Well i am not a hair professional however the best thing i think to do is 1st if you have a perm STOP at least for the summer, one of the main reason black people's hair does not grow is because a mix of chemicals, you have to remember to make sure your hair and scalp are hydrated even if that means you have to put oil in you hair everyday. Also it might help to get a professional point of view on the situation, it is possible a professional can tell you what other precautions you should take and find a way for you to still look good while doing hair repair.
Stay out of your HAIR!!!!!!!! A lot of young teens love to curl and use every different product out there in their hair!!! KEEP THAT GEL AND HAIR SPRAY AWAY!!!! STICK WITH ONE LINE OF PRODUCTS.

Doo Grow products are really good and they grow your hair fast. But you have to use only their products. They have a oil in a plastic bottle that says Stimulating Growth Oil, use that. DON'T PUT GREASE IN YOUR HEAD use that oil only, no oil sheen either. I cut my hair short close to 9mos. ago and it' down pass my shoulders again.
according to a friend I had in high school thats normal. according to her most cant grow their hair much longer than their chin (unless they're mixed, in which case she joked saying that doesnt count lol). I think her problem was from using too much product to relax her hair though.
well you can start going to a salon and having your hair getting treated and then braiding or weave like tracks i mean it's up too you but you know
